Last weekend, the <\/span>
\n Domaine du Radar<\/b>
\n<\/a>the famous annual gathering of the vanlife community: El Campo Vanfest. <\/span>. A look back at an event not to be missed. <\/span><\/p>\n

Masterfully led by <\/span>
\n Go-Van <\/a>
\n<\/b>and his faithful
\n Captain MAC<\/a>
\n<\/b>we were <\/span>exactly 272 vans. SICK! <\/p>\n

We were lucky enough to take part for the first time. What we remember of the weekend: vintage vans, new vans, converted buses, inspiring people, laughter, original set-ups, a few drops of rain but campfires to keep warm… We’ll tell you more below! <\/span><\/p>\n

Touching lectures and stories<\/b><\/h2>\n

El Campo is the perfect opportunity for travel addicts to share their experiences and adventures with people who share the same passion: vanlife<\/em>. And some of them have been there, done that! <\/span><\/p>\n

We thoroughly enjoyed following the adventures of <\/span>Julie Plante<\/a>‘s adventures. <\/b>Aboard her magnificent beauty & well-being caravan <\/span>
\n (the very first in Quebec!)<\/span>
\n<\/i> she spent 9 months on the road in Central America. <\/span> The aim of her van road-trip: to help women in Central American countries. From Guatemala to Panama, via Costa Rica. It was a successful gamble for the young Quebecer. Over 200 women were helped across the continent! BRAVO! <\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

We also met an inspiring Spanish couple. <\/span><\/p>\n

After 5 years on the road aboard “La Furiosa<\/em>” (a Volkswagen Transporter T4), Lidia and Javi, <\/span>the Van Travellers<\/a>,<\/b> have already covered 39 countries and more than 120,000 kilometers! <\/span> <\/p>\n

“Life is an open road<\/span><\/i>A thought they seem to follow to the letter! We were lucky enough to attend their very first international conference: budget, problems, favorites, they shared a bit of their daily lives…. Total immersion in their world and their way of life. Next destination… Mongolia! <\/span><\/p>\n

Great encounters and great characters <\/b><\/h2>\n

Among the encounters we made, we were particularly impressed by the family behind the project <\/span>
\n Hempbassadors<\/b>
\n<\/a>. Behind this beautiful green bus, completely refurbished by Marie and Francis, lies a whole story. These ambassadors for hemp, entrepreneurs and farmers, have decided to promote the various virtues of this little-known plant. check it out<\/a>! <\/span><\/p>\n

We also crossed paths with a number of ben original characters. Starting with <\/span>la F\u00e9e Fanny<\/b><\/a> (fairy tale), who takes to the road with her family in her converted bus. This little fairy flies from seat to seat, telling stories to the little ones. We loved the trip back to childhood! <\/span><\/p>\n

We had a nice chat with <\/span>
\n Marcias<\/b>
\n<\/a>a zany dairy farmer. He entertained us all weekend and made us laugh. Thanks to him for warming our little hearts when it was so cold! <\/span><\/p>\n

Good music <\/b><\/h2>\n

Because a festival wouldn’t be a festival without good music! We share with you the best tunes of the weekend. <\/span><\/p>\n

We fell in love with the <\/span>
\n Mixbus<\/b>
\n<\/a> of Jacob, who gave us a good thrill from the top of his big bus. Check this is sick! <\/span><\/p>\n

Our favorite band is <\/span>
\n Clay and Friends<\/b>
\n<\/a> ! Fans of hip-hop, reggae and soul, this is for you! <\/span>Their best-known song “<\/span>
\n Going Up the Coast<\/span>
\n<\/i>“was written for El Campo 2 years ago, and the clip is as beautiful as the song! Don’t hesitate to follow them on the <\/span>
